Beauty Within, Beauty Without

Hello make-up addicts!
This is Savvy and this is my first post. My great friend Amendria invited me to start blogging here!

So how many of you buy cruelty-free? What does it mean to you? How important would you say it is?
To some, cruelty-free means completely avoiding products that are made by companies that support or practice animal testing. Some people also avoid make up that contains animal products or that may harm the environment (do you ever think about where your soap ends up after it goes down the drain?).
Well, whether you think animal testing is necessary for medical research, you might want to consider if it is worth it for cosmetics and bath products to be tested on animals.

Some non-testing companies include
  • Almay
  • Arbonne International
  • Bare Escentuals
  • bareFaced Mineral Cosmetics
  • Beauty Without Cruelty
  • Biore
  • Bobbi Brown
  • Bonne Bell
  • Bumble and bumble
  • Channel
  • Clinique
  • DuWop
  • e.l.f.
  • Estée Lauder
  • Everyday Minerals
  • FACE Atelier
  • Hard Candy
  • jane
  • Kiss My Face
  • LUSH
  • MAC
  • Make Up Forever
  • Manic Panic
  • Mary Kay
  • NARS
  • NYC
  • NYX
  • OPI
  • Origins
  • Paul Mitchell
  • Physicians Formula
  • Prestige
  • Revlon
  • Smashbox
  • Stila
  • Too Faced
  • Urban Decay
  • Victoria's Secret
  • Wet n Wild
  • Yes to Carrots

Of course, there are more companies; these are companies that I am familiar with and recommend. For more, check out CaringConsumer.com. If you're having trouble figuring out if a brand is cruelty-free, I welcome any comments!
If you may have products that are testing on animals, don't fret. I would suggest using them up (you don't want to create extra waste in the landfill, do you?), and replacing it with a cruelty-free brand. For example, I have had the same CoverGirl trio for three years; once I hit pan, I'll be replacing them with similar MAC eye shadows that are also better quality (I have had my eye on Amber Lights for this reason).

My Hello Kitty MAC Review

Sorry it took me so long to right a review, But better late than never. I'm going to review everything I bought from the Hello Kitty Color Collection from MAC.

I bought the Brush set that came out with the collection, and these brushes are my first MAC Brushes. This is the 239, And it's perfect for packing in colors. I definitely buy the full sized one.

Strayin'(on the left) is a very mauve pink but still pink, Cute-Stre(in the middle) is a neutral color with some shimmers to it. and Big Bow a Pink color with blueish undertones. My favorite is Cute-Ster.

Nice Kitty(on the left) is very bright pink with blue shimmers, Mimmy(in the middle) Is coraly pink with shimmers. She Loves Candy is a mauve pink. My favorite one Mimmy. I have Sweet Strawberry too, but have no picture. It's a dark mauve pink.

I bought both palettes, the Lucky Tom palette contains Creme Royal, Paradisco, Stylin' and Lucky Tom. The Too dolly palette contains Yogurt, Rompin, Too Dolly, Stately Black. I love both palettes. Lucky Tom is my favorite though.

I bought my first Pigments and my first Reflects Glitter. I have used the Reflect Glitter yet. But I have used the pigments. I bought Milk and Deep Blue Green and I love them both. But Milk I have to use wet. Deep Blue Green Pigment is my favorite.

Yes I had fun with this picture. ^_^

MAC Brush Cleanser

I've been using, the brush cleanser for sometime. I have seen an improvement, They feel cleaner now. I will buying this product from now on to clean my brushes.

MAC Paint

I bought the MAC Paint as my first MAC product, I didn't like at first because I couldn't use it with my shimmery eyeshadows. they didn't stick very well to the paint, It was until to later that they work better with satin eyeshadows. It works great with my satin eyeshadows, I love it now. But I can't wait to buy a MAC Paint Pot.

Urban Decay Primer Potion

Okay I have been using the Urban Decay Primer Potion for like 2 months. It's a must have for every make up artist or make up girl. It makes my eye make up long lasting, It makes them crease proof.

Zoom Lash Mascara

Okay, I have used this mascara for like 2 months. And I love it, It makes my longer and thicker. It makes them look like I have false ones on. I only have the sample size, But you can bet that I will buying the full sized one.

My sister in law didn't like it, She said it made her lashes clumpy. I didn't have any problem with clump. Please tell me if you have had any problem with this product.
