IMATS Plan & Prep- January

Hello gals & guys! Like I said a few months earlier, I'm going to IMATS in Pasadena(which is funny because it's called IMATS LA, my husband asked where it was going to held and I told him at the Pasadena Convention center. To which he told me "so it's going to be in Pasadena, not LA" to which I asked him "Is Pasadena in LA? to which he said "Yes, but it's called Pasadena, not LA" Yeah, my husband gets technical with that sort of thing, I retaliate by tickling him :P) Anyways, I said was going to blog my journey to IMATS, which I've made thre first step already and didn't blog about it (bad keyry!) The first step I have taken is to search and reserve a hotel room, I have already found a hotel, that is fairly close to the hotel for a good price. Booking a room early is key to getting a good deal and booking with sites like priceline.com(which is what I used (: ) are also a big help! It's also a good to book in advance to make sure you get it squared away, so you don't scramble later and pay more than needed or worse don't find any rooms :O Another thing to keep in mind is how many people will be going with you, so when you're reading room details you can see if comes with an extra bed or couch that can pull out into a cot. Another thing to look into while booking a room, to think how long will you be in the room for, if you are going to spend a significant amount of time in the room, maybe you could splurge for a 3-star room for a better ambience. But if your just using room to sleep, then might just need 1 or 2-star room, in my opinion. Now if you are traveling alone, you might have to look for a hotel in a nice neighborhood, unless you're thrill seeker. Even you are traveling with other girls, I would still find a hotel in a nice area, just to be safe. I'm going with my husband and his friend, so I feel a bit secure :) I hope this was helpful in some way, I'll keep checking to see when hotel rooms start decreasing availability, if any of you are planning to go IMATS LA, let me know what you're excited about! :)
Best wishes,
Keyry <3

First Impressions- Flowerbomb by Victor & Rolf

So this apparently is the first fragrance by Victor & Rolf, who are very big in artistic fashion, as you can tell from looking at this bottle. It's very unique, I've never seen one like this before(It looks like a grenaide, it's so cool!). When I first tried this perfume, these are the first things that popped into my head: marshmallows and cotton candy. Very sweet, kind of intoxicating sweetness, but I also noticed a bit of a flowery scent.

Here are the the notes for this perfume, for those of you who like to look for certain notes.: Sambac Jasmine, Centifolia Rose, Cattleya Orchid, Ballerina Freesia, Patchouli

Just by looking at this bottle, I would go bonkers, it's so pretty and shiny. But because I can't really take really sweet scents( or be near that smells like cotton candy, I not a fan of it) I couldn't really justify spending 50$ for a .68 oz bottle of something I would never wear, even if the bottle looks so cool! But if you are intersted in something like this or want to check it out for yourself, I will put a link below, hope this was helpful!

First impression- Lola by Marc Jacobs

And another one :) This one is for Lola by Marc Jacobs, second time trying Marc Jacobs' products, the first thing I thing noticed about this one was: sweet and flowery. But this one to be a little more subtle than the "Daisy" one I tried before.

Notes: pink peppercorn, pear, ruby red grapefruit, rose, fuchsia peony, geranium, vanilla, warm tonka and creamy musk

I'm sensing a pattern here, Marc Jacobs likes alot of grapefruit, vanilla and musk. Like the one before this one, I didn't sense anything that stood out in this one either, although it very has a very artistic bottle. If you would like to try this one for yourself, the smallest bottle that you can purchase at sephora, but you can look elsewhere for you purchase, is 1 oz for 48$. I hope this was helpful!

First impression- Daisy by Marc Jacobs

Here's another one for you guys, this one is for Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I've never tried any of Marc Jacobs' products before this, so this will be perfect for all of you are trying new brands. The first things that came to mind when trying this one were: sweet, flowery and fresh. It also gave me the feel like I was smelling a body wash, which was very subtle.

Notes: strawberry, violet leaves, ruby red grapefruit, gardenia, violets petals, jasmine petals, musk, vanilla and white woods

Over all this wasn't a bad scent, but it wasn't something that made me drop everything and purchase it. It's nice, but nothing special. If you would like to try this out for yourself, you can purchase this most places you can buy perfume. The smallest bottle you can purchase, from sephora which was the first thing that popped up when I Googled it, is .67 oz which is 35$, but they also have a Roller ball one for 20$, if you want something more portable. I hope this was helpful!

First impression- Heat by Beyonce

So, I get a billion and one perfume samples and I just either let them sit in my draw collecting dust or give them people in swaps or give them to friends and family. So I have decided to do first impression for you guys. I'm not one to have a lot of different kinds perfume or body sprays, I'm not one to want to smell like many things, if I like something a lot I will sigh with it. With that said, if something catches my "nose"(lol), I would be inclined to make purchase. Okay enough rambling, on to the first impression.

Heat by beyonce
There is a special place in my heart for Beyonce, I loved her in destiny's child, almost every song she had recorded has been a hit. Which is why it's so hard for me to say this, I'm not a fan of this perfume, when I first took a whiff, the first few things that came to mind were: hair dye and soap. I also detected a bit of a spicy scent, which didn't help.

Top notes: magnolia, neroli, red vanilla, peach
Heart notes: almond macaroon, honeysuckle nectar, creme de musk
Base notes: sequoia milkwood, tonka bean, amber
I don't know, maybe I had a bad batch, I really tried to like it, maybe I just need more time to get use to it. Maybe I will try it again in the future. But you want to give it a try for your self, you can purchase it from almost any place that sells perfume, I put a link down below for Macy's, as that was the first thing that popped up when I Googled it, the smallest bottle you can purchase, from Macy's anyways, is 1.7 oz for 50$. But if you do a little more research, you could probably find it cheaper. I hope this was helpful!

Review: Mark- Get in Line liner in- Deep Aqua

When I was little, I remember borrowing my mother's Avon Catalog and instead of going straight to the kid section of it, like a normal kid would do, I would go straight the cosmetic section(and of course getting caught looking at and getting lectured saying that I was to young to be thinking about wearing make up...)My first lip gloss(and of course it wasn't the deep red one I wanted, it was a sheer pink one, because I was too young to wear such dark and provocative color or so my mother told me) was from Avon, so when I heard that Mark was a cosmetic branch off of Avon, I was all over it. This was my first product from mark

I was a bit skeptical about this liner though, one it was very small, the packaging was very simple, yet complex, Mark has this hook up system, which is suppose to make it easy to travel with the products. So if you are girl on the go, this might be something you want to look into. When I first opened the product, I almost didn't want to even swatch it, it had one of those all over the place applicator, very big turn off! Many time I have bought products with similar applicators and have been frustrated with them, even using the small short stoke technique, the liner would all over where I don't want them to be. But since I received in a swap, so I though the least I would do is try it out.

When I swatch this liner on my hand, my heart nearly stop, I was so shocked at how pigmented the liner was and it was only one sweep. I though I swatching one MAC's liquid liners, so I decided I would to apply it on my eye. Surprisingly, I didn't have a problem applying this liner, regardless of the applicator, mind you, I was using very short strokes and slow motions, but it really wasn't necessary, the applicator wasn't flimsy. They staying power of this product is a beast, like you have to have a oil based make up remover to take this off(I had to get some to get the swatch to come off my hand xD), so that's also a plus. You can purchase this product at the online Mark store(which I will provide a link for below) or from Avon lady for only 6$(I know right) They have only a few shades though, so if you would like to try out some good liquid liners that are comparable to MAC's Liquid last for a cheaper price, you should check it out, I know I will. I hope this was helpful!
