First impression- Lola by Marc Jacobs

And another one :) This one is for Lola by Marc Jacobs, second time trying Marc Jacobs' products, the first thing I thing noticed about this one was: sweet and flowery. But this one to be a little more subtle than the "Daisy" one I tried before.

Notes: pink peppercorn, pear, ruby red grapefruit, rose, fuchsia peony, geranium, vanilla, warm tonka and creamy musk

I'm sensing a pattern here, Marc Jacobs likes alot of grapefruit, vanilla and musk. Like the one before this one, I didn't sense anything that stood out in this one either, although it very has a very artistic bottle. If you would like to try this one for yourself, the smallest bottle that you can purchase at sephora, but you can look elsewhere for you purchase, is 1 oz for 48$. I hope this was helpful!

First impression- Daisy by Marc Jacobs

Here's another one for you guys, this one is for Daisy by Marc Jacobs. I've never tried any of Marc Jacobs' products before this, so this will be perfect for all of you are trying new brands. The first things that came to mind when trying this one were: sweet, flowery and fresh. It also gave me the feel like I was smelling a body wash, which was very subtle.

Notes: strawberry, violet leaves, ruby red grapefruit, gardenia, violets petals, jasmine petals, musk, vanilla and white woods

Over all this wasn't a bad scent, but it wasn't something that made me drop everything and purchase it. It's nice, but nothing special. If you would like to try this out for yourself, you can purchase this most places you can buy perfume. The smallest bottle you can purchase, from sephora which was the first thing that popped up when I Googled it, is .67 oz which is 35$, but they also have a Roller ball one for 20$, if you want something more portable. I hope this was helpful!

First impression- Heat by Beyonce

So, I get a billion and one perfume samples and I just either let them sit in my draw collecting dust or give them people in swaps or give them to friends and family. So I have decided to do first impression for you guys. I'm not one to have a lot of different kinds perfume or body sprays, I'm not one to want to smell like many things, if I like something a lot I will sigh with it. With that said, if something catches my "nose"(lol), I would be inclined to make purchase. Okay enough rambling, on to the first impression.

Heat by beyonce
There is a special place in my heart for Beyonce, I loved her in destiny's child, almost every song she had recorded has been a hit. Which is why it's so hard for me to say this, I'm not a fan of this perfume, when I first took a whiff, the first few things that came to mind were: hair dye and soap. I also detected a bit of a spicy scent, which didn't help.

Top notes: magnolia, neroli, red vanilla, peach
Heart notes: almond macaroon, honeysuckle nectar, creme de musk
Base notes: sequoia milkwood, tonka bean, amber
I don't know, maybe I had a bad batch, I really tried to like it, maybe I just need more time to get use to it. Maybe I will try it again in the future. But you want to give it a try for your self, you can purchase it from almost any place that sells perfume, I put a link down below for Macy's, as that was the first thing that popped up when I Googled it, the smallest bottle you can purchase, from Macy's anyways, is 1.7 oz for 50$. But if you do a little more research, you could probably find it cheaper. I hope this was helpful!

Review: Mark- Get in Line liner in- Deep Aqua

When I was little, I remember borrowing my mother's Avon Catalog and instead of going straight to the kid section of it, like a normal kid would do, I would go straight the cosmetic section(and of course getting caught looking at and getting lectured saying that I was to young to be thinking about wearing make up...)My first lip gloss(and of course it wasn't the deep red one I wanted, it was a sheer pink one, because I was too young to wear such dark and provocative color or so my mother told me) was from Avon, so when I heard that Mark was a cosmetic branch off of Avon, I was all over it. This was my first product from mark

I was a bit skeptical about this liner though, one it was very small, the packaging was very simple, yet complex, Mark has this hook up system, which is suppose to make it easy to travel with the products. So if you are girl on the go, this might be something you want to look into. When I first opened the product, I almost didn't want to even swatch it, it had one of those all over the place applicator, very big turn off! Many time I have bought products with similar applicators and have been frustrated with them, even using the small short stoke technique, the liner would all over where I don't want them to be. But since I received in a swap, so I though the least I would do is try it out.

When I swatch this liner on my hand, my heart nearly stop, I was so shocked at how pigmented the liner was and it was only one sweep. I though I swatching one MAC's liquid liners, so I decided I would to apply it on my eye. Surprisingly, I didn't have a problem applying this liner, regardless of the applicator, mind you, I was using very short strokes and slow motions, but it really wasn't necessary, the applicator wasn't flimsy. They staying power of this product is a beast, like you have to have a oil based make up remover to take this off(I had to get some to get the swatch to come off my hand xD), so that's also a plus. You can purchase this product at the online Mark store(which I will provide a link for below) or from Avon lady for only 6$(I know right) They have only a few shades though, so if you would like to try out some good liquid liners that are comparable to MAC's Liquid last for a cheaper price, you should check it out, I know I will. I hope this was helpful!

Review: Fyrinnae Liners in Flamboyant Forest and Midnight Mistress

I have never heard of Fyrinnae products, let alone tried them, but I received these liners in a swap, so I had nothing to lose if I tried them. You have to shake them a bit, as it's instructed by the packaging, they are a bit on the watery side, so use a little at a time and build up to the color pay that is desired. I like them, they are not the greatest, they don't last 8 hours, but they do last a good amount of time even in the heat.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find them on the Fyrinnae site anymore and I can't seem to find them sold anywhere. Which really sucks cause I was hoping to get some more of these. But I will put a link to the Fyrinnae, because their products are really nice. I'm going to have place an order myself. Hope this was helpful!:)

Imats- 2012

I've made up my mind, some how I'm going to make to IMATS next year and I'm going to take you through my planning and preparation. From booking the hotel to knowing what to pack for the trip. Which right, the big thing to do, is booking the hotel, it can't be booked later than the first week of january, I'm told anyways, the later it gets in the year, the harder it is to book a hotel close to the location you want, especially during the summer. I let you guys know when I have booked my hotel and will keep checking for hotels as it gets closer to the date and let you when is the absolute cut of when you won't be able to find hotels. Urban Decay 24/7 Liner pencil Swatches

So, I'm a little late on the Urban Decay 15th anniversary 24/7 Liner set Swatches, but I have time and nothing to do, so why not. This set retails, or should I say retailed because I checked the site and couldn't find it, for 92$. Which is really pricy for a eye liner set, I think this was the most expensive I have ever saved for. It comes with 15 full sized 24/7 eye liners and a Grind House sharpener. The shades range from everyday wearable shades to fun bright colorful shades, As you will see in the picture below. I will also take through ever pencil on how I have used them myself.

Midnight Cowboy, Corrupt, Stash, Zero, Asphyxia, Mildew, Bourbon, Perversion, Rockstar, Stray Dog, Electric, Uzi, Binge, Baked, Ransom

Binge is a metallic navy blue, I usually add this to a neutral eye for a pop of color or put a navy eyeshadow and use as a color booster, or put it in the inner corner when doing a smoky brown look, which I love to do :)
Rockstar, to me looks like a burgundy wine color and is my first experience with this kind of color. Ways I have found to use it is as a liner with neutral eye look, sometimes I would smoke it out for a sultry look. Or placed under a similar color to boost the color, or when wearing a mauve pink eyeshadow, I would use this a liner instead of black, for a more softer look.
Corrupt, looks to me like a earthy brown with little bits of shimmer. I have so much fun with this color, I use it instead of black with neutral looks or I use as a base for brown eyeshadows or I use as a liner with smoky navy blue looks.
Baked is interesting color for a liner, I have never come across a liner like this, it is a metallic bronze color. But I have found some uses for this, under a bronze eyeshadow for a color boost or put in the inner corner when doing smoky navy looks, which is my favorite way to wear it :)
Perversion is the blackest eye pencil I have ever owned, I say this because I have a gel liner that is black as this pencil. I pretty sure you all know the many way to use a black liner, but I will write down them anyways, I wear this liner with almost every kind of look, place under with similar or other colors and place it in the water line.
Bourbon is a metallic soft brown, if that can be possible. And like a black liner, this color is pretty much fool proof, but I'm going to write the ways to use it anyway. I wear with neutral looks for a more softer look, sometimes I smoke it out for an easy sultry look or under similar colored shadows.
Ransom, to looks like metallic violet, this is one of my favorites in this set. I love to wear this with a light purple eye shadow as a wash of color and this as a liner, it make my brown eyes pop! I also wear as liner with a neutral eye look for a pop of color or place under a similar colored eyeshadow as a color base.
Stash is dark olive brown color and also a color I have not come across for a liner anyways. Although I have found a few ways to use it, I wear this with a natural eye looks for a more softer look than just using black or place under similar eye shadows as a color base.
Zero is black(obviously..^_^;;) with a hint of brown, well it looks like to me. Like Perversion, you all probably know how to wear this, but because I run this, I can write if want :P I wear this as liner with every look imaginable and some use it as a color base with different colors or similar colors.
Stray Dog look to me a charcoal brown and I have to admit that I only have one way to use this color. I'm sure if I experiment more, I could find more ways to use this color, but for now, I just use it instead of black with neutral looks :)
Uzi is charcoal grey and is one of my favorites in this set. I love wearing this with light lavender looks, with natural looks instead of black or under similar eye shadows as a color base.
Mildew is a metallic olive green and I didn't think I would like this liner, but it's actually ones of my favorite liners in this set. I pop this in the inner corner with dark green or olive smoky looks, under similar colored eye shadows as a base color, or by it self with natural looks and/or smoked out for an easy smoky look :)
Midnight Cowboy is a shimmery pink beige and when I first looks at this liner, I though to myself "How the heck am I going to use this?" but this has become one of my most used and favorite liners. I pop this in the inner corner, I use this as a brow highlight, I place under similar colors as color base or use to highlight my face sometimes :)
Asphyxia is a shimmery fuchsia liner, this one of my favorites and possibly the only reason why this set caught my eye. Because this reminded me of a color in my pro color palette that I love, they ways I love to use this: When doing a smoky purple eye I pop this in the inner corner or I wear this under similar colors, or wear as a liner with neutral looks.
Electric is a shimmery cyan blue liner, this is one my favorites and possibly the reason I convinced my husband to let me have it :) Cyan is his favorite color and he loves it when I wear it. I wear this under similar colors as a color base, in the inner corner with navy, purple, pink and other colors for a pop of color or as liner with neutral colors instead of black liners.

This is probably the best investment I have ever made, I love these liners and have many uses for them. Unfortunately they don't have it in stock at the online store, but maybe if you are lucky you can find at a sephora near you. I thank you for reading and hope this was some help. Love you all and hope you are all well and happy! Until my next post, Have a great day!

First impression: Profusion Eyeshadows

I don't know if this still counts as a first impression, because I have tried their eyeshadow before and I was not impressed. But I saw their display at Walgreen's and saw that they had a few palettes. So I said what the heck, it was only a 1$, so I grabbed the one with the neutral colors. As I opened it for the first time, I see that there was some big chunks of glitter as you can probably tell in these pictures. But when I went to swatch, hardly any of the glitter stuck to my hands, these eyeshadows are also kind of powdery, so that also something to watch out for. All but 2 eyeshadows has good color pay off, some of the lighter colors are a bit sheer but could be built up till desired color. Over all they are good eyeshadows, should you run out and get all of the palette right this second? No, they are not that great. But if you are at Walgreen's and want to give them a try for yourself, go ahead. And if you end up not liking them, they were only a dollar, so there no big money being spent. Oh, while I was looking at these palettes, I saw that Walgreen's had some ELF palettes too :)

First impression: Revlon Perfect Heat 1" Curling Iron

Today I recieved my new curling iron from the very nice mail man, I bought it online from walmart. Since I had just opened it and had some time, I decided to do a first impression for you guys.
Curling iron price: 9$
Heat up time: 5 mins
Hair length: little past shoulder
Hair type: thick
Style time: 20 min
This won't be a full on review because this will be based on my first use of this iron, but from my first use I love it. For every lock of hair, which was 5" long and inch thick, it took a few seconds for my hair to be hot to the touch and my hair is thick for reference. It's very light for handling, which is good because I'm weak and it took about 10 mins to cool down enough for me touch it and put the little cover that it came with. Over all, from first use, I love it but I will give a more indepth review at the end if the month for those who would want it :)

And this my hair after 12 hours after curling it, mind you I have curly hair already.

I'm pretty with the end result :)

Nail tips!

I know that maybe that the things here might not be news to some of you(probably most of you who read this will just see it as a been there done that) But if you want figure out how to repair your goopy nail polish, keep reading. So, a couple days ago, I was looking through my nail polish collection and noticed that some of them were getting thick and goopy. I didn't want to throw them away, so I went looking for a way to save them, I heard that adding nail polish remover makes them less goopy, but I came to discover that ruins the product. The best way, from doing my own research, is to buy nail polish thinner, which you can find at Sally's beauty supply, I found one at ulta.com for 7$, which seems reasonable, considering you only need a few drops to restore your goopy polish. Another thing I discovered by reading, that a China Glaze nail polish does not get goopy, no matter how long you have it, so I decided to test that theory, I happened to have a China Glaze nail polish in Sangria for 4 years. So I pulled it out and opened it and sure enough, it was still the same consistency as if l just bought yesterday. And I know that thought of spending 7$ on a bottle of nail polish is disgusting, I don't even like spending more than 4$ on a bottle of nail polish and I don't :D So i'm going to give a few good links where you can buy China Glaze and other great brands of nail polish.
www.head2toebeauty.com
www.8ty8beauty.com
Also if you look on amazon.com, you can also find some China Glaze for as low 1$!
And of course, what's a nail blog without some pictures :)

Bargain Alert!

If you haven't gone to see my target bargain alert, go check out my youtube channel, youtube.com/amendria.

A couple days ago I was at Hot Topic(it doesn't look like Hot Topic anymore :( ) I came across a cosmetics section in the store, they had NYX cosmetics which I didn't care for, what caught my eye was the eyeshadows, I couldn't find a color that I didn't have in my collection, but wished I could have bought one just to try it out, next time though I won't pass up the opportunity. Some of them were priced down from their original price of 5$ to 2.50$. They also had glow in the dark nail polish for 5$, thinking back on it, I wish I didn't pass on them....Grr
